This coming week we will be making balloon car racers in the class and collecting data on how well they do! You need to collect recycled material to create your car in the class! Balloons will be new but the body, wheels and decoration all have to be made from recycled materials. Look at the video below for ideas and remember we are making the cars in the class!! You need to go through the whole design process when making your car! Start collecting good trash that you can use for your car ...NOW!!
New paper plane challenge! Look at the video below and try out a boomerang plane at home! You will be able to get paper in the class tomorrow also! Quite amazing!! We will have a Boomerang Aeroplane Championship this coming week!!
Homework has started once again and you need to make a HUGE effort to complete all assignments! Here is the work for this week and both pieces are due on Friday.
We will be introducing myimaths tomorrow and there will also be work on that to do ... especially for all you mathematicians out there who love maths!! Congratulations to Prrashhrad and Joris! They completed the homework and their planes travelled a distance of 12m. That is the record to beat!! Take up the challenge.
Prrashhrad states his success is due to , " Folding the folds precisely and aiming upwards and using a medium weight paper." Joris thinks, " Aiming upwards is important as is the thrust!"
Our new unit of inquiry is off to a flying start!! Paper planes have been seen all over the grade 5 quad! Visit this site and make some different paper planes. Science is FUN!!
